BIP - Redox Biology in Health and Disease
The course aims to gain an overview of redox biology and its contribution to physiological
and pathological conditions.
Virtual Classes:
• Basic Principles of Redox Chemistry and Physiological Production of Reactive Biological
Oxidants.
• Lipid Modifications of Redox Biology
• Redox Signaling Physiopathology
• Redox in Aging and Exercise: Skeletal Muscle Oxidative
• Stress Models
Face to Face Classes:
• Quantify Reactive Oxygen and Nitrogen Species in biological models and assess their role in
redox signaling.
• Expression of albumin-tyrosine nitration
• Oxidative stress monitoring with biosensors
The Blended Intensive Programme is composed by a virtual and a face-to-face part at the University of Barcelona (Spain).
Virtual Part: before the mobility from 29th April to 20th May, 2026 and after the mobility in June 2026.
Face-to-face part: from 26th - 30th May 2026 (both included)
