International Cooperation for Development plays a leading role in all the internationalization initiatives of the University of Pavia, whose mission in Developing Countries is to provide high-quality education, develop research activities, support cooperation initiatives, and ultimately promote capacity building.
This mission is founded on the belief that universities in developing countries can play a key role in promoting sustainable development and social justice.
The strategy for international Cooperation for Development of the University of Pavia is implemented thanks to the active cooperation with other universities, international and local bodies and associations and by means of a variety of dedicated action lines: signing Memoranda of Understanding, offering scholarships for incoming researchers and scholars, managing, monitoring and evaluating development cooperation projects, creating international networks and partnerships in the area.
ITALIAN UNIVERSITY FOR PALESTINIAN STUDENTS (IUPALS)
Call for application for 2 study grants at the University of Pavia for Palestinian students for the academic year 2025-2026
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS: 31/05/2025
The University of Pavia is offering 2 scholarships to support Palestinian students residing in the Palestinian territories through the Italian Universities for Palestinian Students (IUPALS) initiative.
The general aim of IUPALS initiative is to promote the right to higher education for Palestinian students residing in the Palestinian Territories by accessing academic courses in Italy.
The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of University and Research and the Consulate General of Italy in Jerusalem, is promoted by the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities (CRUI), in collaboration with several Italian universities. Local partners of the project are the Schools of the Holy Land and the John Paul II Foundation.
The project also includes the provision of an Italian language and culture course, preparatory to academic enrolment, carried out by some of the universities participating in the project according to a coordinated model.

How to apply:
1) Fill out and submit the ONLINE APPLICATION FORM by the 31 May 2025
2) Once having submitted your online application, you should apply for the course of your choice via the platform APPLY, open from 29 May to 6 June 2025, and ensure that you satisfy all the entry requirements.
Application fee will be exceptionally waived.
Selection results: the results will be published in July on this webpage and on the dedicated webpage at www.crui.it
IUPALS Italian language course – CRUI
CRUI, in collaboration with some Italian universities part of the project, will oversee an Italian language andbculture course prior to the start of the academic year in Italy, specifically organised within the IUPALS framework.
When: from 3 June to 30 October 2025 for a total duration of five months.
Where: These courses will be held in Bethlehem and in Ramallah, at the Schools of the Holy Land.
How to apply: interested applicant will have to register for the course according to the procedures set out in a dedicated selection notice published in the CRUI website at at www.crui.it
After successful completion of the course, students will obtain a certificate describing the syllabus and the skills acquired.
