Scholars at Risk

Scholars at Risk (SAR) is an international network of higher education institutions working to promote academic freedom and protect scholars whose lives are in danger, or whose research and teaching work is severely threatened.

Since 2019, the University of Pavia has been part of the Italian section of Scholars At Risk, whose main objectives are promotion and protection of academic freedom, cooperating in advocacy activities, and organizing dissemination events and awareness campaigns.

As part of its participation in SAR Italy, UNIPV facilitates the arrival of researchers and scholars at risk and takes part into the mutual dissemination of research fellowship opportunities offered by the members of the network
