Description:
The project was carried out by researchers belonging to two Jean Monnet Centers of Excellence:
- The Interregional Jean Monnet Center of the University of Pavia (applicant organization)
- The Jean Monnet Center of Excellence "Antonio Truyol" of the Complutense University of Madrid (partner organization).
The project included the following activities:
- Background research - first international conference (Pavia, Italy – Nov/Dec. 2014)
- Second international conference (Madrid, Spain – May/June 2015)
- Publication of conference proceedings and reference documents
- Implementation of a specific section on the websites of the involved institutions
The conferences aimed to disseminate the results of basic research, involve researchers and representatives from EU institutions and Latin America – including as keynote speakers – promoting broad and multidisciplinary debate, strengthen awareness of the EACEA and the Jean Monnet Action – ERASMUS+ Program in non-EU countries, disseminate knowledge and engage the general public, as well as public officials and academics, in the debate on a possible convergence between the EU and Latin America under the guidance of the social market economy, adopted in the EU treaty as a fundamental principle of the Union.
